Geico will often ask you to upload photos through its app first. That photo estimate is a starting point, not the final number. Once our technicians take the bumper cover or door panel off, hidden damage usually turns up, and we document it and send Geico a supplement so the full repair is paid for.
Geico may suggest a shop from its Auto Repair Xpress program. That's an option, not a requirement. Under California Insurance Code § 758.5 you can have your car repaired wherever you choose, and Geico still owes a fair, reasonable cost of repair.
