The F-150 has used an aluminum-alloy body since 2015, and the Expedition and Super Duty use aluminum too. Aluminum needs its own tools, rivet guns and adhesives, and it has to be kept away from steel dust to prevent corrosion. Ford certification requires a dedicated aluminum work area, and our El Segundo shop has one.
